An expert from one of the UK’s leading suppliers of pallet trucks has spoken out against untrusted and unproven truck dealers, stating that when businesses buy from a dealer without the proper certification, they are putting their entire business at risk. Phil Chesworth, Managing Director of Pallet Trucks UK, which supplies hand pallet trucks and a number of other manual handling solutions to businesses across the country, says that when purchasing from unauthorised truck dealers, they undermine their whole industry and are at risk of purchasing goods which could injure their workforce, ruin orders or end up costing them more money in repairs or replacements.
Phil Chesworth says, “It is crucial when purchasing such an important piece of equipment as a pallet truck or manual stacker truck, that the dealer has the proper certification to be selling such apparatus. Many unauthorised suppliers make their money by telling clients that pallet trucks are good as new, only for them to be falling apart when it comes to performing any work. There is little or no recourse a customer can take should they get their purchase back to their workplace and discover it is faulty or close to being written off. Therefore it is crucial when buying a pallet truck to ensure that all the appropriate paperwork is provided, and that the dealer is a tried, tested and, most importantly, trusted supplier of the desired equipment.
